A violent love story

  1. The story of Shiv Charan Sharma (Ishrat Ali) who revolts against the feudal landlord, for justice but ends up as one of the Dreaded DONS of the underworld of the city.
  2. Munna (Rajnikant) a shoe shine boy, roamed the streets of the city for livelihood since young, adopted by Shiv Charan Sharma, becomes the right hand of Shiv Charan Sharma, whose mere mention, would send tremors of fear through the underworld.
  3. Rohan (Aamir Khan) Trainee air force pilot & son of Shiv Charan Sharma, graduates into a killer and the eventual successor of Shiv Charan Sharma's throne.
  4. Neha (Juhi Chawla) orphan staying in college hostel, fiancee of Rohan destined by fate to suffer the agonising pain of separation for 4 long years, a cruel test of destiny, meets her lover again but who now is a different person all together, a killer!!!
  5. Razia (Archana Joglekar) the beautiful but fiery daughter of Aslam Pathan (Raza Murad), the arch rival of Shiv Charan Sharma, falls in love with Munna and thus the fate of the lovers is doomed from the first sight itself. She holds her family to ransom at borrowed time but? for how long....?

And thus unfolds the ultimate film into the emotions of the underworld.
